As stated in an earlier blog post, remember to look at the day as a whole, the week as a whole, and the month as a whole. With that being said, you have the ability to “budget” your calories. Save calories here to have calories there. What ultimately matters is if at the end of the day, week, or month, your calorie totals are where they need to be. And, the answer to that is that they need to be less than you are burning. Remember - eat less and burn more. It’s that simple.
If you are like most people, you struggle the most with your diet at night with your dinner and dessert. After a long day, the last thing that you want to do is eat a small meal that you don’t enjoy and then be starving and miserable the rest of the night. So, there is a solution; make your changes with breakfast and lunch.
Dieting is not as complicated as people make it out to be. We tend to over-think everything and make it too difficult. It is not very difficult, especially if you approach it as a consistent thing and not an all-or-nothing thing. One very easy way to improve your diet is to look at each day and week in its entirety. Look at the day as a whole and the week as a whole.
